The Remodelers council was formed in June of 1986 by members of the Building Industry Association of Central South Carolina (then Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia) who were involved in the home improvement industry. These members realized a need for a specialized council to promote ethical business practices and set quality standards for the remodeling industry in the Midlands.
Since 1986, the Remodelers council has been successful in boosting the public image of the remodeling industry and improving the industry in general. The council has been awarded seven national Council Awards for Demonstrating Remodeler Excellence (CADRE) from the NAHB Remodelers council.
