Sign Up For a Committee!

BIA Members, we need your help throughout the year to do everything the association does. Participating in a committee is a great way to meet fellow members, grow the association, and help your business. Contact the staff via e-mail (click here) or call/text (803) 525-1120. You can also login to your member account and sign up for some of these under the Groups/Interests section.

AMBASSADORS CLUB Assist with and conduct new member orientations; play a vital role in getting new members involved; serve as a liaison between members and BIA leadership.

CODES & INSPECTIONS Monitor proposed changes in building codes; responsible for establishing and maintaining a forum for communication between building inspection departments and builder members.

EDUCATION Inform members of all educational programs and services available by our association, NAHB and HBASC, and coordinate and conduct the Builder Workshops.

GOLF TOURNAMENTS Plan, coordinate, and promote annual BIA golf tournaments.

GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS Develop and coordinate local and state legislative goals; monitor state and local ordinances/legislation; inform membership of what action is needed.

HOME SHOW Plan, organize, and promote Carolina Classic Home & Garden Show as an income-producing project for BIA.

MEMBERSHIP Establish goals for membership growth; plan and conduct programs for membership development and retention.

POLITICAL EDUCATION Evaluate local political races and recommend allocation of funds from S.C. Builders Political Action Committee.

PUBLIC RELATIONS Promote BIA services to members through an internal information program- newsletter, magazine, bulletins or brochures. Display useful publications available from NAHB and encourage members to use these materials.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE Help ensure the future of the building industry by building the labor workforce. The Task Force is comprised of various committees that work with local schools, groups and organizations, help members with job shadowing and apprenticeships and more.

VOLUNTEER BANK The BIA hosts many meetings and events throughout the year and we need volunteers to help those run smoothly. Sign up for this group and you’ll get notifications of when help is needed. It’s a great way to get involved and meet fellow members.
